You, playing as Mr. Macbeth (yes it's that guy from the Henry Stickmin collection), are going on an adventure into the Cave Where the Dark and the Light Dwells. 

Don't worry! You are not alone! You also have your Duality Blaster, a big gun that is crucial for your success.

This big gun has two different attacks: one of them brightens an area in a cone, hurting dark enemies that got caught in it, knocking them away and also propelling yourself; the other being a beam of darkness that darken an area in a line, hurting light enemies that got caught in it, pulling them in and also pulling walls closer to you (relatively).

In order to complete this adventure, you need to become a master of your weapon. You are not very athletic, so you rely on the powers of the gun to move deeper into the cave. There are also enemies that can hide in pure darkness/brightness and you need to use your gun to reveal and defeat them.

✹The game doesn't render properly under certain resolutions. If you see some of the grounds and walls missing, please zoom in/out with your browser or play in full screen.

The movement felt a little weird, I found the shoot jump very inconsistent to use and the enemies didn't seem to take any damage because the gun didn't visibly harm them in any way. It would be hypocritical to complain about enemies blending into the background given that's what my game is about but it did make the shooting aspect a little difficult given I had no clue where to aim half the time. Don't be disheartened tho, you clearly have bucketloads more programming skill than I do and I wish you all the best.

I agree that I didn't give enough instructions for new players. I personally love games that don't give many instructions and leave most of the game for players to explore (like Rain World), but that's probably not a good design for such a short game like this.

If you want to jump for the max amount of height, you should attack and jump at the same time. The light attack can only hurt dark enemies and the dark attack can only hurt light enemies. You'll know that they got hurt when you see them being pushed/pulled by your attacks. 

Also, the pulling force given by the dark attack is depending on the distance between you and walls. The closer you are to the walls, the stronger the pull is. Another hidden fact is that your horizontal movement speed doesn't go down, even when you are on the ground, as long as you are holding the movement key with the same direction you are moving. This allow you to skip some areas if you are good enough.

I may be a little dumb but I don't know how to pass the first wall.

Do a rocket jump just like Soldier from TF2, but with a flashlight.
Also the dark attack is kinda a grappling hook, except the pulling force is harder the closer you are to the walls.

Thanks for the help. It's a cool game. The feeling of the gun is nice once you understand how it works. The latest additions really improve the game.

However I find it a little too difficult for me. Despite many attempts, I always die before the end.

i like the concept but movement is very disorienting

May you explain what makes you feel that way? Is it because the camera moving speed is too fast? Or is it because the background makes your eye sore? 

the act of shooting moving you around too much and the background can get disorienting

So basically both. Got it. Will try to fix that in the next version.
